Speaking on behalf of the ADA 2023 jury, Gabriele Chiave, VP of Creative Direction – Design & Innovation for the Estée Lauder Group, shared his thoughts on the role of design:

“I always like to remind myself that we design with people for people. Our creations should strive to make a positive impact on people’s lives and contribute to a better world, placing social and sustainable responsibility at the forefront.My wish for the design world today is to take a step back from the fast pace of our lives. Design requires the right amount of time for thoughtful consideration and execution. When a project is given the proper time for maturation, it results in a superior product in terms of design and durability. This approach also contributes to sustainability by creating products that can be cherished and passed down through generations. Let’s strive for a “less AND more” culture – less products, and more quality, creating products that are meaningful, resilient, profitable, and built to last.”
