The extraordinary setting of the imposing Libres spaces at Superstudio Central Point hosted the announcement of the winners of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2023. The iconic location is the birthplace of Zona Tortona, the symbol of Milan Design Week – a cultural bulwark where design, art and fashion meet.
Speaking on behalf of the ADA 2023 jury, Gabriele Chiave, VP of Creative Direction – Design & Innovation for the Estée Lauder Group, shared his thoughts on the role of design:
“I always like to remind myself that we design with people for people. Our creations should strive to make a positive impact on people’s lives and contribute to a better world, placing social and sustainable responsibility at the forefront.My wish for the design world today is to take a step back from the fast pace of our lives. Design requires the right amount of time for thoughtful consideration and execution. When a project is given the proper time for maturation, it results in a superior product in terms of design and durability. This approach also contributes to sustainability by creating products that can be cherished and passed down through generations. Let’s strive for a “less AND more” culture – less products, and more quality, creating products that are meaningful, resilient, profitable, and built to last.”
