March was a month packed with events and an all-female programme entitled

The “Exploration of Colour” event was organised by Casa Ceramica, a prestigious brand based in Manchester in the UK, specialised in the sale of ceramic products and high-range building materials.
The presentation took place at the Material Source Studio, a co-working space where designers, architects and experts can explore new interior styles and finishes and find inspiration.
The speakers included: Ramona Macchi, the Quintessenza Ceramiche art director and co-founder, Tekla Evelina Severin, colorist, photographer, architect and interior designer and lastly, Jemma, the spokeswoman for Crown Paints (a famous English paint brand), who together enjoyed an in-depth discussion about their careers and experience of colour in design.

The space was decorated with totems and panels covered with the Färgblock ceramic collection, a collaborative project involving both Tekla and Ramona.

During the conference, Ramona described the behind-the-scenes activities required to create a ceramic collection and how a simple idea or inspiration can give birth to a real and concrete project. This included a special focus on the Färgblock series developed with Tekla.
What is particularly new for Quintessenza is that Färgblock is its first clear collaboration with a designer.
Ramona concluded her talk by saying: “… it’s not easy for me to commission someone else to develop a collection. I am jealous of all my collections, but with you Tekla it has been different. We speak the same language, the language of colour.”

SPECIAL EVENT in collaboration with ElleDecor NL: Tekla presents Färgblock

This event was held at “The Farm Material Lab” in the town of Hilversum, a creative space where designers and architects can discover new trends and enjoy a first-hand experience of new materials.
The evening event, staged in collaboration with Elledecor , featured an interview between the chief editor of Elledecoration NL, Evelien Reich and the Swedish designer and colorist, Tekla Evelina Severin, who talked about her design approach and use of “colour blocks”.

On the same day, Marjolein Dekkers, the famous Dutch interior design blogger and founder of Stijlcast also interviewed Tekla in an ad hoc podcast.

Marjolein was enchanted by Tekla’s colourful world. During their conversation, the designer confessed to being quite introverted and serious but also someone who loves bringing playfulness to life through colour.
In fact, Tekla’s colour blocks give energy and spread joy and she uses colour to communicate and explore visions that are very different to the typical Scandinavian shades of grey and beige.
During the interview Tekla also explained how her background as a photographer has helped her develop a personal vision between 2D and 3D. Thanks to her keen sensitivity, she succeeds in creating unique surrealistic environments, where the focus is not on construction or function but on the choice of visual elements.

Tekla also explained how her meeting with Ramona, the Quintessenza Ceramiche art director, gave birth to the Färgblock collection with its gloss finish 5×15 porcelain stoneware brick format that she describes as being simultaneously nostalgic and “timeless”.

The strength of Färgblock lies in the way it creates distinctive patterns for unique and personalised interior and exterior decorations.

Tekla ended by saying:
“Beauty cannot save the world but it can help you feel better!”
And we agree with her!
